How Does Live Scan Fingerprinting Work in Florida?

The process begins with the correct agency instructions and ends with electronic fingerprint submission. At Oraz Fingerprinting in Hallandale Beach, we help you complete the fingerprinting step and keep the transaction information you need to follow up with your agency.
Find Your Florida ORI Number
Before your visit, get the ORI (Originating Agency Identifier) or fingerprinting instructions from your employer, licensing board, or requesting agency. The ORI identifies where the screening request belongs. Certain applications also require an OCA number or advance registration. Your requesting organization must confirm the correct information.
Prepare for Your Live Scan Appointment
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID, your ORI or agency instructions, and any screening confirmation your program requires. Visit our Hallandale Beach location: 1920 E Hallandale Beach Blvd, Suite 639B. Walk-ins are welcome 1:00 PM–5:00 PM during operating days.
Complete Your FDLE Live Scan Fingerprinting
Our technician captures your fingerprints electronically using a Live Scan device and submits the information through the authorized FDLE route for the ORI provided. When required by the requesting program, a compliant photograph or additional information may also be collected during your appointment.
Save Your TCN and Check Your Fingerprint Status
After submission, keep your TCN (Transaction Control Number). You can use it to check your transaction status through the FDLE lookup system. Your screening results go through the authorized agency process; the fingerprinting appointment itself does not determine licensing or employment eligibility.
After your fingerprints are submitted:

receiving agency handle subsequent processing and review. A TCN status update does not necessarily
mean the agency has completed its own decision.
Who Needs Fingerprinting in Florida?

Healthcare, nursing & caregiving: Registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), certified nursing assistants (CNAs), home health aides, caregivers, assisted living personnel, and certain AHCA- or Florida Department of Health (DOH)-regulated applicants may need fingerprint-based screening.
Education, childcare & community programs: Teachers seeking certification, some school staff and school contractors, childcare and daycare workers, summer camp and youth program staff, foster care applicants, and certain volunteers or nonprofit personnel may need screening.
